I recently took a deeper look
into the book of Hebrews. It immediately caught my attention when It started
talking about the definition of Faith (eleventh chapter of Hebrews). The exact
definition it gives is that Faith is
“Being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see”. I
was even more interested when it talked about my bible hero, Noah, who obeyed
the Lord even when everyone else ridiculed him and made a mockery of him for
it. Then it went on to talk about Abraham who is also a critical part of the Bible. He was called to a place to
receive his inheritance, but was still unsure. The important part though, was
that he went anyway, and followed what the Lord had instructed him to do. Still
though at the end I was unsure about how he talked of that he lived in the
promise land in a tent until God built the city around him (which he never
did). It also talked of how the Israelites passed through the red sea, but when
the Egyptians tried to come back after them, God made the sea swallow them up.
The interesting thing was that they were praised for what they had done but
never given what they were promised. This makes me know how much God works in
mysterious ways.
